Friday, March 2nd – 5-9PM – Riverside Park – Join United Against Poverty and Southern Eagle Distributing for the Burgers and Brews Kickoff Party with the Budweiser Clydesdales!!!! The Clydesdales parade route will be along the promenade within Vero Beach’s Riverside Park at 7PM. Following the parade, they will be also available for guests to visit. As part of the festivities, United Against Poverty is hosting a free community celebration from 5-9PM at Riverside Park’s Grand Pavilion area in the northwest quadrant of the park featuring live music and select brews from Budweiser, Islamorada Beer Company, Sailfish Brewery and Hoplife Brewing Co., along with featured food favorites from Cafe 66, The Waffle Wagon, The Scoop Coop, Woodys Burgers Catering and Phatz Chick ‘n Shack Vero. A special free Kids Zone will also be featured with bounce houses and an interactive Vero Beach Police Department Booth!
Saturday, March 3rd, Quail Valley River Club – 2335 Highway A1A – Second Annual Polo Ball – 7-11PM. Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing to benefit the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society”. The evening begins with cocktails and a silent auction. A sumptuous dinner is planned, along with a Live Auction with Auctioneer John Moore. Dance the night away to the music of Gypsy Lane. Saturday, March 3rd – Riverview Park, Sebastian – 10AM-4PM. The Pelican Island Wildlife Festival celebrates the anniversary of the establishment of the nation’s first National Wildlife Refuge, on March 14, 1903, by President Theodore Roosevelt! Agenda is as follows: Live Wildlife Shows, Rehabilitated Pelican release (if possible), Environmental Exhibitors, Arts & Crafts, Native Plants for sale, Kids Activities and Games, Various Food Vendors, Educational Presentations, Historical Reenactments, Amateur Photography Contest, Boat Tours and more. The event and parking is FREE!!! Boat tours are $20-Adult, $10-Children (under 10 years old) and FREE under 3 years of age!!!
Starting Tuesday, March 6th – Riverside Theatre – “GYPSY” – 3 performances – considered one of the finest musicals ever written, Gypsy follows indomitable stage mother Mama Rose as she chases vicarious success and stardom through her daughters on the vaudeville circuit. When younger daughter, June, elopes, Rose turns her attention to her older, less talented daughter, Louise, who eventually becomes the acclaimed burlesque stripper named…..Gypsy Rose Lee.
