Events Happening this Weekend Vero Beach…….

I have listed below a few of the wonderful events that we have going on here in Vero Beach as well as Fort Pierce…….

Friday, 4/6, Gallery Stroll, Downtown Vero, 5-8pm – Gallery Stroll in the arts district of downtown Vero.  From the Center for Spiritual Care at 16th Ave & 24th St, down to 14th Av to 18th Street east to Old Dixie.  There are many art galleries waiting for you to visit.  For more information call 772.643.6782

Friday, 4/6, Knights Play @ Dodgertown – Last Day!!! – 3901 26th Street, 11am-2pm – The Knights travel to Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach for spring break where they expect to play four highly competitive games against high schools from the southern United States.

Friday, 4/6, and Saturday, 4/7 – Hibiscus Festival – Historic Downtown Main Street, 2036 14th Ave.  The Hibiscus Festival is a yearly celebration for the City of Vero Beach, to increase awareness of the historic downtown sector, raise funds for Main Street Vero Beach that work toward the preservation and growth of the area and encourages community participation from residents, organizations and businesses.  Over 50 artists will be displaying art for sale.  Bring your family and friends to enjoy the musical entertainment, a children’s art show, the United Against Poverty Shopping Cart Parade, delicious food and children’s activities. Times:  Friday, 4/6, 5-8PM and Saturday, 4/7, 10am-4pm

Friday, 4/6, Saturday, 4/7 & Sunday, 4/8 – It’s A Jungle Out There Exhibition, McKee Botanical Garden, 10am-5pm – It’s A Jungle Out There exhibition – As it was in the days of McKee Jungle Gardens in Vero Beach, when animals roamed the 80 acre property and engaged with visitors wandering the lush jungle trails, so it will be again.  For more information call 772.794.0601.  ***This Exhibit ends on Monday, April 30th

Friday, 4/6, “Buyer and Cellar” – Riverside Theatre, 3250 Riverside Park Drive – Struggling actor Alex More is excited about his new job, even though it’s in a Malibu basement.  You see, the basement belongs to beloved superstar, Barbra Streisand, who happens to have a shopping mall in her cellar.  When Babs comes downstairs to play one day, a real bonding takes place, but will that friendship transfer out of the cellar?  Buyer and Cellar is a laugh-out-loud story about one of the oldest of odd jobs.  For more information call 772.231.6990

Saturday, 4/7, “Dance Under the Stars with Lisa G”, Safari Golf and Games, 455 9th Street, 7-10PM.  Golf and Dance with Lisa G playing your favorite tunes!

Saturday, 4/7, “Rock ‘n’ Brew”, Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Park Drive, 8PM.  Enjoy Medieval to Metal:  The Art & Evolution of the Guitar exhibition….40 guitars on display!  Beer from “Walking Tree Brewery”, Music by Soul Jam.  Dress as your favorite rocker, walk the red carpet and a “Wall of Fame” photo opportunity.

Sunday, 4/8, Theatre Go Round Dinner Theatre, The Quilted Giraffe, 500 US 1, 4:30pm. “Love Changes Everything”, Andrew Lloyd Webber at his romantic best features hits from “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Cats”, “Starlight Express”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Aspects of Love”, “Sunset Boulevard” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”.  Shows run every Sunday through May 6th and includes a gourmet dinner with doors opening at 4:30pm before the 6PM show.  For reservations and more information call 772.252.9341.

If you feel like taking a drive to Fort Pierce……Veterans Memorial Park / Riverwalk Center, 600 N. Indian River Drive. This weekend is their “Fort Pierce Oyster and Sea Fest….Saturday, 4/7, 10am-6pm, and Sunday, 4/8, 10am-4pm.  This two day festival celebrates the Fort Pierce Waterfront and all of its bounty with delicious oysters, tasty seafood dishes and landlubber foods, live music and entertainment with a bevy of merchandise and arts & craft vendors.
